It was a back-and-forth battle between France and The Netherlands but France managed to come out on top 10-9.

Capitalizing on a Netherlands error, France jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first two innings with an RBI triple in the 1st and solo homerun in the 2nd.

The Netherlands bounced back, scoring two runs in the 3rd. France responded with three more of their own in the bottom half of the inning.

Going into the 6th inning France led 9-5 and The Netherlands kept on fighting. They scored three times in the top half of the inning, cutting the lead down to one, but they couldn’t find a way to tie the game.

Jim Wursten had a fantastic game for The Netherlands going 3-4 including a solo home run in the top of the 7th but it just wasn’t enough. The Netherlands came up short.

This was only the second game decided by one run during the tournament and The Netherlands have been a part of both. After another heartbreaking loss, they look to bounce back against Israel.

This big win for France improves their record to 2-1, and their win streak to 2, after they dropped their first game. The French also have Israel up next.
