Croatia was firing on all cylinders today when they defeated Sweden 17-0. This was Croatia’s third shutout of the tournament, their first on the winning side of mercy.
They started a bit slow. After two, they lead 3-0 thanks to a 2-RBI single by Damir Mandic in the 1st and a solo home run by Alen Magdalenic in the 2nd.
In the 3rd Croatia poured it on, ending the inning with 10 additional runs. They scored 5 runs off three doubles. Mandic, who went 2-3 in this one, had 5 RBI’s.
In the circle for Croatia three arms, collectively, allowed just 1 hit while flagging 9. Sweden’s only hit of the game was IF Daniel Franco’s double in the 1st.
Croatia’s next test comes against Lithuania while Sweden looks to bounce back against The Netherlands.
